The Rosary
October is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary.
The feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated on October 7.
The Rosary is a sequence of prayers. St. John Paul II said it is intended to help us grow in our faith as we begin to understand more and more about the life, the death, the resurrection, and the Ascension of Jesus Christ, and about the Church.
The way to view the Rosary is that it is a time of meditation. We meditate on the great mysteries of the faith.
The word, Rosary, comes from a Latin word Rosaria, which means a crown of roses or a garden of roses.
